Financial Support
The Moravian Ministries Foundation receives financial support from three primary sources:
  1. Assessments paid by churches to the Northern and Southern Provinces,
  2. Management fees charged against assets held in the planned giving (GiftLegacy) program and the Moravian Common Fund, and
  3. Fees paid for providing Morning Star Campaign Services.

MMFA does NOT solicit charitable gifts to support its works. In fact, to do so would jeopardize our mission and core values, which focus on the donor’s needs and charitable aspirations.

As a result, MMFA operates more like a socially responsible business than a traditional agency of the Church. This is especially true in light of the fact that each year MMFA requests, and receives, less financial support from the two Provinces.
The chart below shows how revenue from management fees and Morning Star fees represents an increasingly larger share of MMFA’s total annual budget, while support from the Provinces is declining by both percent and actual dollars. It is anticipated that by 2011 MMFA will be self-funding and no longer need monetary support on the provincial level. This, in turn, frees up provincial revenue for additional ministry opportunities and operations.
