Imagine the possibilities! Think of all the good your congregation could do with $10,000! The one U.S. Moravian congregation or fellowship with the highest level of participation on this year’s Moravian Day of Giving will receive $10,000.00 (unrestricted).
The congregation with the second highest level of participation will receive $5,000.00 and the third highest level of participation will receive $2,500.00. Help your congregation do more good by making a gift on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 to your congregation on the Moravian Giving Portal.

How do we calculate “participation?”
We calculate participation as the total number of different donors to your congregation through the Giving Portal on February 21 divided by your congregation’s average weekly attendance as most recently published in the Interprovincial Board of Communication’s “2023 Directory & Statistics.”
The Giving Portal accepts gifts of $10 or more. Make as many gifts as you want!
Where does the incentive money come from?
The gift of the incentive money, totaling $17,500 for congregations, comes from your Moravian Ministries Foundation’s operating funds. This (and everything else we do) ultimately comes from the fees paid by our investors in the Common Fund — fees that stay within the church instead of going to secular investment managers. The Moravian Ministries Foundation in America receives no money from The Moravian Church in America. None of your congregation’s fair share support to your province comes to the Moravian Ministries Foundation. All the services we provide are funded from investment fees that are kept inside the church. Click here to see who invests in the Common Fund. Is your congregation among these investors? Their patronage enables MMFA to provide Stewardship Services, Gift Facilitation, Gift Planning, and cover the transaction fees for donors who use the Moravian Giving Portal — all at no charge to Moravians.
Incentives for gifts to the grant-making Field of Interest Funds
In addition to the incentives for participation at the congregational level, MMFA is matching up to the first $15,000 made to any of the grant-making Moravian Field of Interest Funds. The $15K is the total match (not a match per gift or match per fund). Your gifts to the Field of Interest Funds result in grants to fund ministry. Learn more about applying for grants.
