We are excited to welcome two new members to MMFA’s Grant Advisory Committee: Caroline Averitt and Pam Streich.
Caroline Averitt
Caroline Averitt
Caroline is a North Carolina native, nonprofit champion, and lifelong Moravian. After attending UNC Chapel Hill, Caroline began graduate studies in Nonprofit Management at UNC Greensboro. She joined Americorps VISTA with placements at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater High Point, and then Families Moving Forward in Durham, NC. After working for Healing Transitions in Raleigh, Caroline left the nonprofit world for a job with Coleman Research, a market research firm.
Caroline stays active in her home-congregation of First Moravian, Greensboro and recently coordinated their 2022 Candle Tea. In her downtime, Caroline enjoys building community in her Cary neighborhood, making music with orchestral groups, and volunteering as a Guardian ad Litem!
Pam Streich
Pam Streich
Pam is a member of Lake Mills Moravian Church in Wisconsin. Her involvement with the Moravian Church centers on 12 mission trips as Team Leader. Her passion is family mission work, bringing parents into a new type of relationship with their teens. Pam serves on the Board of Tricklebee Cafe and is also active with Mt. Morris Camp and Conference Center as they create the new Activity Center.
Professionally, Pam retired from School Administration in 2020. She has been a Speech/Language Pathologist, Director of Pupil Services, Elementary and High School Principal, and Superintendent. In retirement, her mission plans were put on hold because of Covid, so she is serving on multiple boards and foundations focused on fundraising and fund disbursement. Pam is excited to join MMFA’s Grant Advisory Committee and be part of an action-centered team supporting our Moravian values.
About the Grant Advisory Committee
MMFA’s Grant Advisory Committee (GAC) is responsible for evaluating grant applications and recommending to the MMFA Board of Trustees which applications should receive grant funding. The GAC is appointed by the MMFA Board and consists of at least one MMFA trustee, one MMFA staff member, and no fewer than five additional members.
We thank all members of the GAC for their service (see below for the 2023 committee roster). We also thank Beth Rohn-Habhegger and Tres Fordham. They rolled off the committee at the end of 2022.
